Symphony’s Piano Technician Trains with Steinway’s Master Technician
As part of the Sun Valley Summer Symphony’s dedication to excellence, the Symphony committed to ensuring our Piano Technician, Jon Bonine, received in-depth training from Steinway’s master technician, Kent Webb, on a regular basis.
Earlier this year, Jon attended his second course and sends his thanks to all those who made this possible:
… to the donors for their generous support in sending me to the Steinway factory last week to learn more about tone regulating our Hamburg concert grand.
The class was just 3 technicians along with the head of Steinway technical services, Kent Webb.
For eight hours every day for five days we explored how to increase power and effect tonal improvements even down to minute details of una corda pedal voicing.
It was a fantastic class, and I look forward to applying what I learned in NYC to our beautiful piano in Sun Valley.
