Sun Valley Summer Symphony Receives Funding From US Bank
It takes great efforts to keep the largest, privately-funded, free-admission symphony in America playing. To that end, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony received a $6,000 grant from US Bancorp Foundation this week.
“This amazing organization, and its dedication to the arts is crucial to the vibrancy and development of our community”, said Jackie Cole, of the Wealth Management Department at US Bank in Ketchum. “US Bank is so proud to have the strength and resources to help support these efforts!”
The Sun Valley Summer Symphony just concluded its 33rd season of presenting free world-class classical music concerts in the Wood River Valley and proudly celebrated ten years of performing in the beautiful Sun Valley Pavilion. Under the leadership of Maestro Alasdair Neale since 1995, the orchestra has grown to more than 114 players, and presents free concerts and programs to over 50,000 people annually. In keeping with its mission, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony is involved in the community, sponsoring the year-round School of Music for students, ages 9 to 18, the Summer Music Institute, which just celebrated its 20th year with over 300 students participating from all over the country and adult education programs.
