Project Tf3

Project Tf3 is a 3-year partnership between the Sun Valley Summer Symphony and the genre-defying trio, Time for Three. Just like Time for Three, this project is different, fresh and very exciting. You can think of Project Tf3 as having three components:
commissioning a new work from Time for Three each year;
engaging Time for Three to perform in the schools, work with Blaine County music students and mentor School of Music and Summer Music Workshops students;
bringing Time for Three to Sun Valley several times each year to live in the community where they will write the material for the commissioned works and inspire local music students.

PROJECT TF3 – 2015

Time for Three has been working with composer/arranger Kenji Bunch this past year to create a new 50-minute piece. The world premiere of Elevation: Paradise with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony is August 4, 2015.

As part of Project Tf3, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony will premiere a new work by Time for Three in 2016 during the In Focus Series and in 2017 during the orchestra festival. See the video by clicking below!
Project Tf3: The Journey Begins

Nick Kendall, Ranaan Meyer and Zach De Pue are prodigious musicians, gifted collaborators and spontaneous improvisers. They are also educators. They have performed over 1,000 in-school concerts and are firm believers in the value of inspiring young musicians. Performing for and working with students is an important part of Project Tf3.

March and April, 2015:
+ Performances for middle and high school students demonstrating the skill of improvisation as it relates to risk taking.
+ Time for Three performs a free concert for everyone on Thursday, April 2, 7:00 PM at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater (Community Campus, Hailey).
+ Time for Three will teach the Wood River High School string orchestra a short arrangement of their 50-minute commissioned work. Time for Three will teach selected School of Music string players the solo parts, and everyone will debut it together at the concert April 2.

First week of August, 2015:
+ Time for Three spends the week working with School of Music and Summer Music Workshops students.

Time for Three continues their school performances and mentorship of School of Music students in 2016 and 2017.

Who is Time for Three?
Time for Three – violinist Zach De Pue, violinist Nick Kendall and Ranaan Meyer, double bass – is a group that defies any traditional genre classification, happily and infectiously. Time for Three is fresh, spontaneous and phenomenally talented. Their energy leaps off the stage, into your heart and reminds you why music matters.

Time for Three visits Sun Valley several times each year to live in the community where they will write the material for the commissioned works and inspire local music students.

Be a part of it!
Be a part of the excitement! Project Tf3 requires additional funds beyond the Annual Fund which supports the Symphony festival and year-round education programs.
