School of Music Honors Recital

Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater (Community Campus, Hailey)

The Sun Valley Summer Symphony is proud to present its School of Music Honors Recital on Sunday, April 29, at 6:00 PM in the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater at the Community Campus in Hailey. This is the School of Music’s signature concert of the spring season, featuring 21 students selected to appear in the program based on their outstanding performances in auditions for a panel of faculty members.

Symphony School of Music string, piano and voice students will perform a wide variety of pieces from Bach, Vivaldi and Grieg, to Barber and Vaughn Williams. The concert is free of charge and open to the public and is expected to last about 90 minutes

The evening will culminate with the announcement of the 2018 Carol Nie Outstanding Music Student Award winner. The annual award is named in honor of former Symphony board president and founder of the School of Music, Carol Nie. In 2017, 21 students were selected to perform for the Honors Recital. High School Junior pianist and vocalist, Sofia Lodato, was presented with the Carol Nie Outstanding Music Student Award.
