Join Music Director Alasdair Neale and Assistant Conductor Ankush Kumar Bahl as hosts and conductors for this season’s In Focus Series titled, “Made in America.” This series is a two-part survey of American classical music which showcases the melting pot of genres and styles we hear in American composition today. Part One of “Made in America” is this summer’s In Focus Series.  Part Two continues in 2015.

Tonight we relax into the clear “American sound” that emerged in American classical music in the early 20th century.  We think of Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber as creating the landscape for the quintessential American sound.  Also on this concert are American composition legends Charles Ives and Elliot Carter.

These pioneers of American Classical Music close the 2014 In Focus Series.  Part Two of “Made in America” continues in 2015.

Note – the Big Screen on the lawn does not display In Focus concerts.
